SORRY is a new magazine digging beneath the surface of one of the world’s most maligned cities. Through bold, exploratory, and immersive storytelling, across design, photography, and non-fiction writing, we uncover Toronto’s contradictions and creative impulses. Like Toronto itself, we are welcoming and persevering. Unlike Torontonians, we are unapologetic.
We’re looking for engaging story ideas for our first issue. From writers, we want sharp, freewheeling, in-depth non-fiction: essays, profiles, histories, features, creative writing. Stories can be celebratory or critical, witty or intense, messy, complex, or layered, but they should always cut through clichés and defy expectations.
From photographers, we’re looking for visual storytelling that captures the city as you see it: photo essays, portraits, documentary work, or unexpected angles on Toronto’s people, spaces, and subcultures.
